Kim Brown Kim Brown: Kim spent her childhood through college as an elite athlete. She uses her athletic experience to focus on body awareness and works into the “zone” in her classes. Due to her time in the Training Room and classes in Physiology and Kinesiology she focuses on integrating the entire body in each pose. Kim’s Vinyasa class slowly builds heat in the body and connects the breath with movement to increase the intention of the pose. She works through “chapters” in the class to touch all of the lines of the body (superficial front, back, deep front, spiral, and side lines of the body). Kim studies the Anusara principles of alignment and is certified in Pre-Natal yoga. Kim’s intention is to empower you to experience your yoga and come away from class feeling at ease with your body, having a calm mind and a smile on your face! Being able to teach is a privilege and she is grateful for each student that walks into class and rolls out their mat.
sara
Sara Edens :: After 20 years of programming, Sara traded her computer for a yoga mat, discovering the many healing benefits of a daily yoga practice. Her goal as a teacher is to bring the same passion and peace of mind that she found through yoga to others in need of healing and reconnecting to their Inner Self, their inner wisdom. Sara's teaching approach is systematic, yet simplified with focus on healthy alignment principles and great emphasis on core strength and intuitive movement. She uses vinyasa flow combined with elements from Kripalu, Ashtanga, Anusara, Kundalini, and Yin yoga. Her classes slowly and safely build body heat while focusing the mind, working towards finding stillness of mind. Sara is a member of the Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association. Her mantra - “It’s a yoga practice, not a yoga perfect!”
karen fagerson
Karen Fagerson :: Karen danced professionally for many years, and her yoga practice and style of teaching reflects a love for creating fluid movement with the body. Allow the breath to be the music, and the focused flow of energy to be the supporting partner guiding you through your practice. She believes that as you develop a strong, supple body, and a centered, peaceful state of mind, your spirit will be free to move you gracefully on and off your mat.
Kim Holland Kim Holland:: Yoga has been such a gift in my life. That's one of the reasons I decided to teach yoga. If I could give back to others just 1/10 of what yoga has given to me, it would be a blessing. Yoga teaches us to "be present" in all that we do, and yoga truly is a present! Over time, what we practice on the mat -- connecting to our true nature, breathing deeply, finding peace and joy -- follows us off the mat, and into our daily lives. It is a truly transformational practice. My background is in Vinyasa, Hatha, and Iyengar yoga. I began practicing yoga in 1998, taking classes and attended workshops and conferences as my schedule permitted. Now, I am also teaching what I love to do, what could be better than that?!
laurie kane
Laurie Kane :: Take Yoga Classes…for ten years. This had been one of Laurie’s goals. Being interested in all types of fitness, Yoga seemed like the perfect balance of the physical and spiritual. After getting her family started, realizing her own gradual loss of flexibility and her need for relief from a hectic corporate schedule, she took her first Yoga class and fell in love. She believes that Yoga has made a dramatic difference in her life, helping her to feel more centered, open, and promoting a greate sense of freedom in mind and body. She would like to share this age–old tradition and help others experience the strength, flexibility and peace that Yoga brings.
anita maher
Anita Maher :: I teach and practice primarily classical hatha yoga.  I have studied with wonderful teachers such as: Rodney Yee, Seane Corn, Baron Baptiste, Johnny Kest, Paul Grilley, Max Storm, Gabriel Halpbern, Shiva Rea, and many others.  My teacher Shirley Walters, who studied under Swami Rama and went on to create the Himalayan tradition, has been the most influential in guiding me on this amazing journey called yoga.

I have practiced yoga since the early 80’s and completed instructor certification in 2003 through the Lotus Yoga Centre. In 2007, I received ERYT certification, and most recently my 500 hour training with the Lotus Yoga Teachers Association.

Over the years my practice has evolved totally into a spiritual practice using mind, body, and breath aligning with divine spirit. My passion is to discover that divine spark which is in us all…Namaste

Patti May Patti May :: I have always loved yoga. It’s that simple. After graduating from DePaul in 2000, I was moved to not just be a student but to become a teacher. What began as a personal promise developed in to something so much more!

I absolutely love teaching and hope my enthusiasm shines through. I encourage students to take the necessary time with the foundation of the asana to make it their own. I incorporate breathing techniques with vinyasa in each of my classes believing that we need to begin from our centers.

As a self proclaimed “yoga junkie” I have studied with many wonderful teachers as Paul Grilley, Sean Corn, Ana Forest, Stephen Cope, Max Storm, Gabriel Halpbern. I have also become certified to teach Pre-Natal Yoga and have been doing so for the past 1 ½ years.

I believe I learn as much from every student I teach as I impart to them, so I would be honored to have you join me in class.

lynn minton Lynn Minton :: Lynn found herself in her first yoga class on Independence Day 2003 and immediately found her passion. Not only did she find a great workout, but she found she walked away after each class with a growing inner peace and joy and a new found tranquility as she faced challenges off the mat. This inner joy was so profound she knew she wanted to share this with others through teaching. Lynn comes to the mat with a background incorporating the alignment principles of Anusara and the grace and flow of vinyasa style yoga.

I am honored to serve my students with the intention that while connected to your breath you might feel each pose with an open heart and a quiet mind. Thereby learning how to meet life challenges by relaxing more and using yoga as a means to explore yourself more deeply so you can see the beauty & strength within.

Jean M

Jean Masukevich: Jean believes yoga is a spiritual pathway in which individuals can gain insight into their divine and true nature. Her training in Iyengar yoga has taught her the importance of alignment and the use of props to make yoga accessible to all, as well as the therapeutic and restorative benefits of the practice. The Vinyasa training has enabled her to tap into the flow of the sacred marriage between breath and movement.

She is passionate about helping others move toward whole health in a fun and meaningful way. She has a strong desire to empower children and bring families together through yoga.

marlene rucks
Marlene Rucks :: Marlene loves teaching, unleashing a quality of playfullness in her students, leaving them empowered, strong and loving themselves. In 2005 she opened Nirvana Yoga Studio to bring together Yoga teachers with an inclusive and open minded style of teaching the traditional aspects of Yoga , from their own experience. Though her classes draw freely from a variety of styles and traditions, there is a consistent emphasis on natural awareness of breath, the ability to utilize asana as a practice for our life and listening to our teacher within. She wants to create a space for people to have fun in their bodies, honoring themselves, and reconnecting to the light that shines within them. It is a priviledge and a joy for her to be sharing this practice with others.
