Yoga Fundamentals Beginner series: Learning the Root of Practice
6 Sessions Mondays 5:30-6:30pm  $100 prepaid for the entire series
Starts March 30th

This series is for anyone seeking to learn more about the basics of a yoga practice.  The ancient principles of yoga are offered focused on practical application of yoga into our modern daily life.

Whether you have never done yoga or you want a refresher, this series break down poses to teach proper alignment, options for different levels and benefits of the pose. Different types of poses including seated, standing, backbends, forward bends and twists will be taught throughout as we build a series of poses for your own personal practice.  Integration of breath with the physical poses will be introduced as a key to tying in body, mind and spirit.

We know that coming to a yoga class can feel intimidating or uncomfortable, usually our first time doing anything can cause some anxious feelings.  We welcome all people in a very open, kind and nurturing environment. Here are some tips for you to prepare to come to class - we look forward to meeting you!

  • Please come in comfortable clothing that is not too loose so your clothing does not get in the way, but not so tight that your movements and breathing are restricted.  Usually leggings and a tank/tshirt work well.

  • Bring a mat, we have just a few at the studio if you don’t have one yet or forget.

  • Try to come to practice with an empty belly, perhaps eat a light meal several hours before practice. The session will be experiential and we will be moving and learning at the same time and it is kinder on the body to have an empty stomach.

  • Be prepared to practice without socks on your mat. The studio is warm enough to avoid cold toes.

  • Come just as you are!  It will be an enjoyable time for yourself, to learn, to laugh and take care of your precious self.
